Description
Compression Molding Presses for Special Applications
700-Ton Compression Molding Equipment for Molding of Parts from Rubber, Plastic, Ceramic and Composite Materials
Typical parts include seals, gaskets, wiper blades and aircraft parts.
Large Ram Design for Compression Molding
The large single-acting ram design ensures even molding pressure. Jack rams are used to increase the closing speed, as well as develop the break-away force necessary to open certain molds. Four post and slab side models are available.
These presses are ideal for transfer molding of elastomers, as well as compression molding of larger parts from composite materials. A complete range of platen sizes is available, with clamp force range from 400 – 1000 tons.
A self-contained hydraulic system and a programmable control package complete the system. The optional Viewpoint control system is also available for proportional control of the press.
Standard Features of the 700-Ton Compression Molding Press:
- Rugged slab side or four post construction
- Self-contained, energy-efficient hydraulic system
- User-friendly programmable control system
Optional Features:
- Electrically heated platens with cartridge heaters
- Platen shuttle and ejector systems
Compression Molding Presses for Special Applications
400-Ton Compression Molding Equipment for Molding of Parts from Rubber, Plastic, Ceramic and Composite Materials
Design for Peak Performance with Minimum Deflection
Guards removed for clarity
All Wabash presses are designed for user-friendly operation and maximum reliability. The large platen presses are also available with oversize bolsters for minimal deflection, resulting in improved part quality.
An energy-efficient hydraulic system, in conjunction with jack ram cylinders, assures rapid closing of the press, and then a slow closing segment. This configuration is ideal for composite molding applications where minimal cycle time, high molding pressure and accurate temperature control are required.
These presses are available in clamp force ranging from 15-1000 tons, and platen sizes up to 100″ x 60″. Various control systems are available to configure the press to your exact requirements.
Standard Features of the 400 Ton Large Platen Compression Molding Press:
- Rugged four post or slab-side construction
- Energy-efficient hydraulic system
- User-friendly control system
Optional Features:
- Cartridge heated platens with T-slots and digital control
- Proportional control of press functions
- Additional safety equipment as requested
Compression Presses For Special Applications
1000-Ton Hydraulic Press for Compacting Metal
A 1000-ton hydraulic compression press is available from Wabash MPI. The press features programmable control of clamp position, closed loop control of clamp force from 10 to 1000 tons, and fully programmable compression and decompression rates throughout the entire force range. The PLC control provides for recipe storage as well as remote communications capabilities.
The Wabash press, Model 1000-36X, has a 36” x 36” work area which can be equipped with heated platens for compression molding of rubber and composites. Rigid, four tie rod design assures minimal deflection and easy parallelism adjustment. Integral hydraulic system powers 30” diameter clamp cylinder and two double acting fast advance cylinders. Fully enclosed and interlocked clamp area guarding is standard for operator protection.
1000 ton Compression Press Features:
- Energy-efficient hydraulic system
- Large bore main ram with jack rams
- Additional safety equipment as requested
